Part 4 : The River Avon |
Returning back along St Mary's Road, we cross High Street again, make our way down Queens Road, turn right, and take the path on the left to the banks of the River Avon.
The west abutment of the LMS west bridge. From here the line turned south, passing through the district of Hampton, and on to Ashchurch. Hampton had its own halt, but named after the district of Bengeworth, presumably to avoid confusion with Hampton-In-Arden
The east abutment of the LMS west river bridge. The trackbed from here to the "Black Bridge" can be observed from trains on the GWR line.
